From antiquity, wine has held a distinguished place in human societies. Homer was already able to describe people of good taste,

"who draw produce of great worth from the vine, thanks to their skill in husbandry and to the care they bestow on vineyards and wines".

Down the centuries, and through all the civilisations it helped to expand and enhance, the vine has continually conquered new territories, despite all the snares that history has laid for it. In many countries such as France, Italy, and Spain, the vine found a propitious land that was especially welcoming and, thanks to a favourable geographical situation, ones that were well suited to make the most of the vines’ potential.

The vine is consequently rooted in history and is an integral part of culture, it is of incontestable richness; and the wine made from it always comes to play an integral role in its country’s society.

At the same time, wines proliferate worldwide, offering the consumer a subtle and almost infinite range of tastes; so the consumer finds it ever more difficult to comprehend fully all the complexities – and pitfalls – of a subject made even more intricate by advertising that has not always been of the first quality. It is with these difficulties in mind that ‘In Vino Veritas Ltd’ has set out to explore every aspect of the rich world of the vine.

There are few fruits of the earth, the climate and the toil of men that have as elusive and fugitive an image as wine does. It has many forms and expressions, as there are terroirs, grape varieties, microclimates and wine growers. Like all living things, it has its own breadth, its own areas of light and shade, making it something unique and irreducible.

‘In Vino Veritas Ltd’ offers its carefully selected balance of the very greatest of these wines. In continuation of our reputation for excellent provenance, service and integrity, we feel that we have taken out the risk factor of disappointment and in doing so, pay tribute to the producers and vignerons of those wines we purvey.
